Staying Grounded When You Go Counter Culture
It was both a privilege and, honestly, a surprisingly fun experience to be featured on Choosing Chaos: Solo Motherhood by Choice with Laura Nave.
Laura and I had a dynamic, down-to-earth conversation about cultural expectations, navigating reactions to having children without a partner, and staying grounded when your life choices don't fit someone else's idea of the "right" path.
It was profoundly meaningful to reflect on my personal journey to motherhood with the intercultural and developmental theories and skills that have shaped my professional life.
Together, we explored not only where other people's reactions come from when we make choices outside their cultural norms, but also how our own stories get activated. Most importantly, we talked about how we can stay in healthy relationship with ourselves and with others through it all.
If you've ever made a life decision that didn't fit the expected script, I think you'll find something here.
